George Bishop - Custodial Supervisor

"To be First in Florida in supporting the operation and maintenance of clean, healthy, safe and secure schools."

There are many different titles used for the job of “maintaining” a school site, buildings, and furnishings. The professionals in this field may be called building services personnel, caretakers, janitors, or the cleaning staff. The most acceptable term, however, is custodian. These professionals have “custody” of the school plant. That is they are responsible for the upkeep of the school. The professional school custodian has a vital role to play in every school facility. A good custodian not only performs job duties well, but also thinks about how these duties interact with all other activities in the school. Good custodial care is a necessary part of achieving the main school mission – that of educating students.
